A gas-fired power generation facility at Ain Sokhna was experiencing severe scaling in their cooling tower and heat exchangers, causing a 28% reduction in heat transfer efficiency and necessitating emergency shutdowns for cleaning every 3 months. The root cause was inadequate chemical dosing and no Legionella management protocol in place.
